Writing About The Perfect Summer Festival

summer fun festivalNo matter where you are, who you are, or what matters most to you; we live in a world that is a little bit crazy. The world as a whole has all been thrown into unimaginable circumstances. It came to us in the form of a nationwide pandemic and most people still cannot leave their home safely to attend festivals. This is very disappointing considering the best festivals come during the summer  months. Therefore, many people are writing about the perfect summer festival as a way to pass the time and express themselves.

The Summer Ahead

write your storyThink about the summers we all were able to experience a mere year ago. Car shows, watermelon festivals, the 4th of July celebrations, and more. Kids out of school. The months ahead should be filled with fun and excitement.

This year, because of a pandemic and social distancing measures being in place, many areas are cancelling these festivals and celebrations. On the one hand, it is good. It is the best way to protect yourself and your family from the deadly corona virus. Even if the world isn’t staying home, you may still choose to stay home as a way to prevent illness.

What do you do to pass the time? Is there a way to keep some of the summer fun? The answer is, “Yes!”

Explore the Joys of Your Mind

creative writingEven if you have never written anything at all, you can still put pen to paper and remember the joy of past summers. Think about the memories you cherish from festivals of summer’s past. Use your Cambridge pen to make note and really get into the mood to write. Let the pen flow over the paper.

Talk about trips to the beach with waves crashing against the shore. Tell the paper how the wind felt blowing against your face. You can write about watching kids enjoying a watermelon eating contest. Maybe the looked like chipmunks with their cheeks puffed out as they crammed in more food. Write about the fireworks popping in the sky in bold, beautiful colors. Were there shapes in the fireworks?

Why Write About It?

When you write, whether about summer festivals or random other things, you can transport your mind to another time and place. You can be free from the fears and concerns brought on by the pandemic. There is no illness in your stories, and even if there is-you can write it better. By writing all that you remember about the past summers, you will find that you miss this summer’s festivals and festivities a little bit less.  You can maybe even remember a few things that you forgot about the summer last year.

Just imagine remembering the water fight that you forgot. Remember when it poured rain down moments before the fireworks. That time when at the beach, you found a necklace. We promise that the memory of those things will make this summer a lot more exciting. Perhaps you will even be able to encourage your kids to write using prompts.
